West Highland Way

An iconic 96 mi (154 km) hiking route in Scotland, the West Highland West begins north of Glasgow in Milngavie, extends along Loch Lomond, and finishes in Fort Williams, a charming town in the Scottish Highlands.

The following log entries feature my photographs and daily route.

A highly stylized trail with ample (if not excessive) amounts of infrastructure, the West Highland Way is ideal for new backpackers. I know that such accessible and curated experiences have their own virtue; however,  it saddens me to see a trail that so unabashedly declares, “Man has tamed this landscape.”
